He was very generous. We essentially took a tour of different thrift shops because Loki needed new shoes. I convinced Loki to settle for a pair of trainers his size until we can spange up enough money to get him some boots he'll like, because he needs usable shoes, bottom line. John also bought us dinner at a Chinese buffet, a small chess set, breakfast, and quite a lot of snacks even after we'd already bought snacks of our own. He was very glad to have us as company and the ride was mellow and relaxing. He didn't put up a fuss about my auditory sensitivity and even fixed my headphones for me so I could listen to music / block out the world peacefully.
He took us to the beach as well. I think I may have gotten sick from the beach water (I'm the only one who went in and am also the only one sick), but it's okay; he gave me lots of Vitamin C supplements and juice. He gave Loki special vegetarian meals (WITHOUT fake meat, please note, which is definitely a plus as Loki doesn't like meat substitutes).
Overall, it was a very pleasant, mellow experience. I took quite a few pictures with my phone, which I'll share with you below.
Loki and John organising stuff on top of the van so Loki can peek up through the hatch if he wants
Views from when I opened the hatch ♥
Some views from inside the car. Then we got out to stretch our legs and...
Got back in the car after lunch and nature calls.
This is from when I turned around and took a picture of sleepy Loki
Took some pictures of local signs to figure out where we were at any given time.
John thought this inn would be picturesque.
also wanted to know what those orange flowers are.
and this is from when we went to the beach.
John dropped us off in a town which name I can't remember, pretty obscure place, only now they're using Patriot gas stations instead of, say, Arco or Shell. I lay down for a while, then Loki coaxed me into getting up and strapping on my pakpak to go across the road and beg rides with him. Two minutes later, someone picked us up.
I can't remember his name, but he's from Hawaii and he was pretty mellow. He dropped us at the first Starbucks he saw in Eureka. Unfortunately, this is also one of the very few Starbucks I've ever been to that don't have a public restroom >_> Loki thinks it's because we're downtown, but whatever the reason is, it sucks!
I've got a persistent headache, but anyway, stay tuned for more adventures.
